Wrexham AFC- Interesting Facts
Founded: October 4, 1864, by members of the Wrexham Cricket Club at the Turf Hotel.
Wrexham Football and Athletic Club (1864): Founded as this in October 1864.
Wrexham Athletic (1881–1882): Used for one season when the club temporarily moved to Rhosddu Recreation Ground.
Then came Wrexham Olympic (1884–1888): Adopted after the club was expelled from the FA and reformed.
Wrexham Football Club (Various periods): Reverted to this name in 1888, and it was used again between 1887–1912 and 2006–2013.
Wrexham Association Football Club (1912–2006; 2013–Present): Adopted when the club became a limited company in 1912, and readopted in 2013.
Additionally, the club has operated as Wrexham FC 2006 Ltd and was known for a time as Wrexham AFC Women.

Racecourse Ground (STōK Cae Ras) (1864–1881, 1883–Present): Located on Mold Road, this is their historic and current home, featuring a capacity of over 10,000.
Rhosddu Road Recreation Ground (1881–1883): The club used this ground temporarily due to rent increases by the cricket club owners of the Racecourse Ground.
The Rock (Wrexham AFC Women): In August 2025, the club finalized the purchase of The Rock stadium in Rhosymedre to serve as the permanent home for Wrexham AFC Women.
