Stevenage FC is most famously and universally known by one nickname: The Boro.
The nickname is derived from the club’s original post-1976 reformation name, Stevenage Borough F.C. When the club won promotion to the English Football League in 2010, the “Borough” was dropped from their official name, but “The Boro” was firmly retained as their nickname.
Broadhall Way: Opened in 1961, the venue was known by its geographic location for decades. Stevenage has used this as their home ground since 1980.
The Lamex Stadium: In January 2009, the club secured a long-term naming rights sponsorship deal with the Hertfordshire-based food company Lamex Food Group.
